“Sussex Against Bullying Was Born”
Sussex Against Bullying was the idea of our founder Benjamin Checkley, who himself experienced bullying as a child and into his teenage years. In 2017 Benjamin got in contact with his Friend, David Turner. Who currently is helping Benjamin set up SAB. In December 2017 Sussex Against Bullying was awarded £9,790.00 From Awards For All. To develop a youth club to support 11-19 years old who are affected by bullying.
We are looking at starting our youth club sessions a few weeks after the Easter Half Term holidays. whereby we will be doing Activities Which will include Xbox, arts & crafts, free internet access, pool table, sports, table tennis, air hockey and structured issue-based sessions. Young people can access support from our team of friendly and experienced volunteers.
We will also look to work with a number of partner organisations to deliver workshops around advocacy, arts & crafts, drama, martial arts & sexual health.
Our youth club will offer our members a safe environment free from bullying, where they can gain confidence & self-esteem whilst meeting new friends.
Should you be interested in referring a young person to the youth club you can do this via the online form on our website or by contacting our youth project manager Benjamin Checkley – Info@sussexab.org
