What Is Bullying?
Bullying is the conscious, repeated, wistful desire to hurt others who are less able to defend themselves.
There are 4 types of bullying:

Physical Bullying is when an individual or group of individuals are physically aggressive to another.
This can include:
- Stealing possessions
- Breaking possessions
Verbal Bullying is the use of words in order to hurt or belittle them.
This can be:
- Spreading rumours about them
- Making fun/mocking
Social Bullying can be:
- lying or spreading rumours
- negative facial or physical gestures
- Playing nasty jokes to embarrass or humiliate
- Mimicking unkindly
- encouraging others to exclude someone
- damaging someone’s social reputation.
Cyber Bullying is the use of communication technology i.e mobile phones, tablets etc. as well as social media and instant messenger in order to hurt, threaten, make fun of an individual or group of individuals.
Ways to stop bullying
Being bullied is not your fault and there are ways in which it can be stopped.
Bullying can be stopped by
You can tell your, parents, guardians, trusted friend or older brother or sister, Teacher, youth worker etc.
- Take a break from social media
- Keep all records of messages or feeds
- Make sure you can be seen by your teachers and stay around a group of friends instead of being on your own.

We are able to provide information support for parents and carers of children and young people who are being or have been affected by bullying.
We can support by:
- Providing information and support (Not advice-giving) with schools.
- Refer young people to other services who can provide additional support
- We will offer parental support groups
